Artificial Intelligence and its impact on the assessment process
How do you feel about AI? Is it something you welcome or does it feel slightly uncertain? Does it feel like it's moving at such a fast pace it's hard to keep up?
As an Assessor, do you wonder how it impacts your work? Would you like to learn more about its potential impacts on assessing and build your understanding so that you feel more confident about it?
I have felt all of the above and also unnerved by its growing use. I also found that there were few sources of information discussing the impact of AI on grants assessing which was frustrating because it affects how we assess. We need to be confident in how we respond to its use.

So, to help fill this gap and to support assessors, I researched and created a guide about the impact of AI on the grants assessment process.

I wanted to bring the key points together into one guide and using it to help start discussions about how it impacts us when we're asssessing. I'm also open minded and happy to hear more thoughts on this too. It's likely to be a moving piece

However, I didn't want this guide to be judgmental about its use, but to highlight the pros and cons to help those who assess.
My aim is for this guide to give you more information about AI to help you make up your own mind about it and to decide how best to respond to its use when assessing. ​
